Walter J. Brown, founder of the Foundation, was a proud Southerner. The namesakes of his Foundation were distinguished Southerners.

The mission of the Foundation reflects regional consciousness in its scholarship, grant and educational programs. As advocates and funders, we take our inheritance as seriously as did Brown. And we have a little bit of fun spreading the wealth.
